Our Process - For Job Seekers

Our Process - For Employers

Find the right job by doing the job

Choosing a job based on a CV and interview works both ways — and often fails both ways. TryOut is designed to help you experience a role before committing, so you can make confident decisions about where you actually want to work.

Instead of guessing if a role or company is right for you, TryOut lets you step into the role, prove yourself, and decide with clarity.

The TryOut concept

Think of it like this:

  • You are interested in a role

  • Instead of committing long-term straight away

  • You TryOut the role for a short period (for example, 1–3 days)

  • You work in the real environment, with the real team

  • If it’s a good fit, you move forward with confidence

It’s a chance to test the job — and for the employer to see you in action.

Step 1: Tell us what you want to try

We start by understanding:

  • The type of work you’re interested in

  • Roles or industries you want to explore

  • Your experience level and strengths

  • What matters to you in a workplace

This helps us match you to roles where a TryOut genuinely makes sense.

Step 2: Get matched to TryOut opportunities

When an employer is looking to fill a role, we match them with candidates who:

  • Are interested in the role

  • Are available for short TryOuts

  • Want to prove themselves through real work

You won’t be sent to roles that don’t align with your goals. TryOuts are about mutual fit, not just filling a gap.

Step 3: Do the TryOut

You’ll take part in a short trial period, agreed upfront. This might be:

  • One or more days

  • A hands-on role

  • Working alongside the existing team

During the TryOut, you can assess:

  • The work itself

  • The team and management style

  • Expectations and pace

  • Whether you can see yourself there long-term

At the same time, you get the opportunity to show how you actually work — not just talk about it.

Step 4: Decide what’s right for you

At the end of the TryOut:

  • The employer decides if they want to move forward

  • You decide if the role is right for you

If both sides are aligned, you move into a permanent or longer-term role.

If not, you leave with experience, insight, and clarity — not regret.

Why candidates use TryOut

  • Avoid committing to the wrong job

  • Get hired based on performance, not interviews

  • Build confidence in new roles or industries

  • Make better long-term career decisions

TryOut gives you control and visibility before you commit.

How TryOut Works for Employers

Hiring based on CVs and interviews alone rarely shows how someone will actually perform in your business. TryOut flips the process by letting you see candidates do the job first, then make a hiring decision with real evidence.

Instead of guessing fit, you trial multiple candidates in short, structured TryOuts, and hire the person who proves they are right for the role.

The TryOut concept

Think of it like this:

  • You have one role to fill

  • Instead of choosing one person upfront

  • You TryOut 2–4 suitable candidates

  • Each candidate works with you for a short trial period (for example, 1–3 days)

  • You then hire the best performer, based on real work, real behaviour, and real fit

No guesswork. No long-term commitment until you are confident.

Step 1: Tell us what success looks like

We start by understanding the role from your perspective:

  • What the role actually involves day to day

  • What skills or experience are essential to perform well

  • What a strong hire would look like in your team and environment

This allows us to focus on practical fit, not just qualifications on paper.

Step 2: We shortlist TryOut-ready candidates

Based on your criteria, we identify candidates who:

  • Are actively interested in the role

  • Are available for short trial periods

  • Understand that performance during the TryOut matters

You don’t receive dozens of CVs. Only candidates who are ready to prove themselves in your workplace.

Step 3: Run short TryOuts

You trial each candidate for a short, agreed period. This might be:

  • One day each

  • Multiple days per candidate

  • Spread across a single week or multiple weeks

During the TryOut, you can assess:

  • Work quality and speed

  • Communication and attitude

  • How they fit with your team

  • How quickly they pick things up

This is not a simulation — it’s the real job, in your real environment.

Step 4: Choose with certainty

At the end of the TryOuts, you decide who to hire.

Because you’ve already seen each person perform, the decision is based on:

  • Evidence, not assumptions

  • Performance, not promises

  • Fit, not first impressions

Once you select your hire, we support the transition into a permanent or longer-term role.

Why employers use TryOut

  • Reduce the risk of a bad hire

  • Compare candidates fairly in the same environment

  • Hire faster with more confidence

  • Avoid long probation periods that still feel uncertain

TryOut is designed for employers who want certainty before commitment.
